BUNYI BEEP PADA BIOS

Sewaktu komputer dihidupkan pertama kali atau setelah direstart anda akan mendengar bunyi “TIIT” satu kali, itulah yang dimaksud dengan bunyi “BEEP”!
Bunyi “BEEP” dipakai oleh BIOS saat POST (Power On Self Test) untuk melaporkan kondisi sistem tertentu. Jika anda mendengar bunyi “BEEP” yang lain dari biasanya itu artinya sistem mengalami masalah sebelum bisa menampilkannya di monitor.
Dengarkan bunyi “BEEP” tersebut baik-baik, catat bunyinya, panjang pendek dari bunyinya. Karena masing-masing bunyi “BEEP” antara BIOS merk satu dengan yang lain kadang berbeda antara panjang pendek dari bunyi “BEEP” itu, jadi kenali dulu merk dari BIOS anda.

Berikut contoh bunyi beep pada BIOS AMIBIOS, AwardBIOS, dan PhoenixBIOS :

1.    AMI (American Megatrends International) BIOS Beep Codes 

AMI BIOS menggunakan beep yang sama panjang dan berurutan. Error diketahui dari banyaknya beep. Contohnya 4 beeps mengindikasikan timer gagal.

2.    Award BIOS Beep Codes

Award BIOS menggunakan beep dengan durasi yang berbeda. Beep panjang biasanya berdurasi 2 detik dan beep pendek berdurasi 1 detik. Selain itu Award BIOS, juga menggunakan frekuensi yang berbeda untuk masalah kritis, misalnya pada overheating CPU akan berbunyi beep frekuensi tinggi yang terus menerus pada saat komputer running.

3.    Phoenix BIOS Beep Codes

Phoenix BIOS menggunakan beep code yang pasti untuk indikasi problem.

Di tabel, tanda ‘-’ yang berarti pause diantara beep.

Contohnya : 1 – 1 – 2 adalah BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEPBEEP .
